HEY PLAYERS, I NEED THIS INFO FROM YOU

What this is

A running checklist of stuff your character sheets are missing. None of it blocks the next session, but the gaps will start mattering soon. Pick what you can fill in before we play and ping Brandon if anything needs a ruling.

Where to write it

Update your stat sheet directly. Sheets live in dnd/the-plane-of-vitas-nova/Characters/. Your backstory and “Session Canon” notes are the other file (same name, no -Sheet suffix). If you don’t want to touch the file, drop a note in chat and I’ll patch it in.

Dustin — Dorian Oric

Your sheet is the most complete in the party. No outstanding TBDs from me. A couple of things worth thinking about:

  • Do you want to formally claim the Speak-with-Dead ring in Dorian’s inventory, or is it floating with the party until you use it on Aradorn?
  • Track gold somewhere on the sheet. Last canon number is 300gp minus 70gp spent on K’roaa’ka’s gear.
  • If you want the G.L.U. mithril/adamantite reframe on the table for real, decide what materials Dorian thinks he needs and how much downtime he wants to ask Brandon for.

Jackson — Tharion Papadakis

You’ve got four open questions on your sheet, here they are in one place.

  • Pick a second Acolyte language. Celestial is already one. You get one more.
  • Starting weapon choice. Light crossbow + 20 bolts, or any simple weapon? Currently nothing is listed.
  • What does your holy symbol look like? Amulet, emblem on the shield, painted on the warhammer? Elythrael’s sign is a shield with two angelic wings.
  • Pick a 5th prepared spell. You can prepare 5 plus your 4 domain spells. Sheet only shows 4 personal picks. Good options: Command, Guiding Bolt, Sanctuary, Inflict Wounds.

Heads up on stuff already on your sheet:

  • Hellish Rebuke save DC is only 10 (CHA +0). Most things will save against it. Still free damage, half on a success.
  • Bless, Divine Favor, Shield of Faith, and Magic Weapon are all concentration. Only one at a time. With CON +1 you’ll drop concentration a lot. Bless is usually the right pick.

Nathan — Roland Hartbane

Most of the gaps are in here. None of it is hard, just hasn’t been written down yet.

  • Fighting Style. Defense is what your AC math currently assumes (+1 AC with armor). Confirm it’s Defense, or pick a different one (Dueling, Great Weapon Fighting, Protection).
  • Pick your prepared spells. You get 4 prepared (CHA mod 3 + half level 1) plus your 2 Oath spells free. Nothing is written. Good starters: Bless, Cure Wounds, Shield of Faith, Command, Wrathful Smite, Thunderous Smite.
  • AC was 17 on your old sheet, should be 19. Chain mail 16 + shield +2 + Defense +1 = 19. Confirm you’re tracking 19 now.
  • Animal Handling math. Sheet shows +3, but WIS -1 + prof +2 = +1. Fix or flag which feature is boosting it.
  • Half-Elf bonus skills. You get 2 more skill profs from Half-Elf. They’re not explicitly labeled. Mark them so Brandon can sanity-check.
  • Knight extras. Knight background gives a gaming set proficiency (which one?), a 4th language (you should have Common + Elvish + 2 more), and 3 retainers (done in 2026-05-01: Carrot, Analese, Alaric).
  • Track your paladin uses. Lay on Hands 15-pt pool, Divine Sense 4 uses/day, Channel Divinity 1/short rest (Nature’s Wrath or Turn the Faithless). Pick a spot on the sheet to mark uses.
  • Hellish Rebuke got attempted in session 2026-05-01 but flagged as not on your sheet. Brandon allowed a half-damage version. If you want it as a regular thing, ask him what’s on the menu (a feat? a one-time consumable? a heritage detail?).

Matt — K’roaa’ka

Sheet’s been frozen since 2026-03-23. Most of the L3 ranger picks were never written down.

  • Walk through L3 Ranger choices. Your sheet flags this directly. Easy to miss the small ones.
  • Spells known. You’ve got 3 listed (Hunter’s Mark, Absorb Elements, Animal Friendship). At L3 a Ranger knows 3 spells, so this might already be right — double-check with Brandon.
  • Echo’s HP at L3. Sheet says base 5 HP “scales with ranger level”. Per Beast Master rules, your Ranger’s Companion HP = 4 x ranger level (or its base, whichever is higher). At L3 that’s 12. Worth confirming.
  • Add bowfin scales and the fish scales from the Weber Hollows fish to your inventory as crafting material (Dorian wants them for G.L.U.’s plate upgrade).
  • The threat from the surviving Grung warrior (“we will seek you”) is unresolved. Not a sheet thing, but Brandon will probably bring it back. Think about what K’roaa’ka would do if his old tribe found him.

Rachel — Lilith Rozanov

Sheet’s been frozen since 2026-03-23. A few admin gaps and one cool item now logged.

  • Skill proficiencies count. You probably have ~7 proficient skills (Rogue 4 + Urchin 2 + VHuman 1). Your sheet shows about 4-5. Walk through them and mark them all.
  • Disguise kit. Urchin gives you one. Not on your sheet.
  • Tool swap. Urchin also gives thieves’ tools, but you already have that from Rogue. Ask Brandon if you can swap the duplicate for another tool prof.
  • City Secrets feature. Urchin’s background feature lets you travel 2x speed between any two locations in a city. Worth a line on the sheet.
  • Languages. Celestial is on your sheet, probably your Variant Human pick. Confirm it’s logged as VHuman rather than Urchin.
  • The Legendary Card is now on your sheet under Notable Items. The card’s actual game effect is still TBD with Brandon. If you want a flavor or a trigger, pitch it.

Lexy — Azalea Fern

Your sheet is clean. No outstanding TBDs from me. A couple of in-fiction threads if you want to think about them:

  • Why did Azalea leave the Feywild? Still open in your backstory. Pick something or leave it for Brandon to seed.
  • Which animal becomes Azalea’s rebirth form? Per the Eladrin Circle of the Moon rule, you’re reborn as whatever you Wild Shape into the most. So far that’s only Brown Bear. Mix it up if you want a different rebirth form.

All Players: housekeeping

  • Update your “Currently” section in your backstory note after each session if your situation changes (where you are, who you’re with, what you’re carrying).
  • Read your Session Canon section. Each PC backstory note now has a ## Session Canon section pulling beats from sessions 2026-04-25 and 2026-05-01. Skim yours and yell if anything is wrong.

When We Hit L4 (Prep Checklist)

Status

Party is currently L3. No level-up has been called in canon yet. Brandon uses milestone leveling, so you’ll hear it from him at the table. This section is here so you’re not scrambling when it happens.

Every PC at L4 picks:

  • HP increase. Roll your class hit die or take the fixed value (1/2 die + 1), then add your CON mod.
  • ASI or feat. Either +2 to one ability score, +1/+1 to two, or pick a feat instead. Now is when most builds either round out their primary stat or grab Resilient (CON) for concentration saves.

Class-specific L4 picks

Dustin — Dorian (Artificer)

  • Hit die: d8. Fixed HP gain: 5 + CON mod (+2) = +7 HP.
  • Spell slots: 3 / 1st becomes 4 / 1st (still no 2nd-level slots until L5).
  • Prepared spells goes from 4 to 5 (INT mod 3 + 1/2 level 2 = 5).
  • No new cantrip at L4. No new infusion (next infusion bump at L6).
  • ASI/feat: +1 INT (to 18) is the easy upgrade. Alternatives: Resilient (CON) for concentration, War Caster, Telekinetic.

Jackson — Tharion (Cleric, War)

  • Hit die: d8. Fixed HP gain: 5 + CON mod (+1) = +6 HP.
  • Spell slots: 4/2 becomes 4 / 3 (gains a 2nd-level slot).
  • Prepared spells goes from 5 to 6 (WIS mod 2 + cleric level 4).
  • Pick one new cantrip. Cantrips go from 3 to 4. Options: Light, Resistance, Spare the Dying, Toll the Dead.
  • ASI/feat: +1 WIS / +1 CON is a strong split. Or grab Resilient (CON) so you stop dropping concentration on Bless.

Nathan — Roland (Paladin, Oath of the Ancients)

  • Hit die: d10. Fixed HP gain: 6 + CON mod (+1) = +7 HP.
  • Spell slots: 3/1st becomes 4 / 1st.
  • Prepared spells goes from 4 to 5 (CHA mod 3 + half level 2). Oath spells still free on top.
  • No new cantrip (paladins don’t get cantrips by default).
  • ASI/feat: +2 CHA (to 19) is the obvious one. Or Polearm Master if you want to switch to a glaive. Resilient (CON) is also strong for smites and concentration.

Lexy — Azalea (Druid, Circle of the Moon)

  • Hit die: d8. Fixed HP gain: 5 + CON mod (+2) = +7 HP.
  • Spell slots: 4 / 2 becomes 4 / 3 (gains a 2nd-level slot).
  • Prepared spells goes from 6 to 7 (WIS mod 3 + druid level 4).
  • Pick one new cantrip. Cantrips go from 2 to 3. Options: Thorn Whip, Shillelagh, Druidcraft, Frostbite.
  • Wild Shape: Moon Druid’s CR 1 is already unlocked at L2, so no new beast tier at L4 (next jump is L6 to CR 2).
  • ASI/feat: +2 WIS (to 18) is the no-brainer. Resilient (CON) is the alt for concentration.

Matt — K’roaa’ka (Ranger, Beast Master)

  • Hit die: d10. Fixed HP gain: 6 + CON mod (+2) = +8 HP.
  • Spell slots: 3 / 1st becomes 4 / 1st.
  • Spells known stays at 3 (next new spell at L5).
  • ASI/feat: +1 DEX / +1 WIS, or +2 DEX (to 18). Sharpshooter is huge for a longbow Ranger but you’d need DEX 17 stays so +1 WIS first is fine.
  • Echo HP scales with your level. Confirm the new HP with Brandon.

Rachel — Lilith (Rogue, Arcane Trickster)

  • Hit die: d8. Fixed HP gain: 5 + CON mod (+2) = +7 HP.
  • Spell slots: 2 / 1st becomes 3 / 1st.
  • Spells known goes from 3 to 4. Pick one new wizard spell (any school). Good options: Find Familiar, Detect Magic, Charm Person, Featherfall.
  • Sneak Attack stays at 2d6 (jumps to 3d6 at L5).
  • Cantrips stay at 3 (no new cantrip until L10).
  • ASI/feat: +2 DEX (to 19) tightens everything. Alternatives: Alert, Skulker, Resilient (CON).
