The Fat Jolly Man
Provisional name
The party only knows him by description. No proper name yet. Possibly the same as the “professor character” Flinter-Barrows mentioned, possibly tied to The-Creepy-Jester / Achilles, possibly a third figure entirely.
What We Know
- Encountered outside Weber-Hollows, alone.
- Described as fat and jolly.
- Handed over The-Book (a book of local lore) to a PC. Source of the book is now confirmed as him.
- Flinter-Barrows separately mentions a “professor character” who came by Weber Hollows asking to retrieve “one of our books of lore.” Likely the same figure.
- Party reaction in the moment: “isn’t he, like, a bad guy?” Suspect by gut, no evidence yet.
- Party has already read the book and elected to keep it. Flinter offered to take it back; declined.
Open Questions
- What is his actual name?
- Is he the “professor” Flinter described, or a separate person who acquired the book from the professor?
- What is his connection to The-Book — author, courier, thief, plant?
- Is he linked to The-Creepy-Jester / Achilles, or to the lore-master?
- Why is he outside the town rather than in it?
