Aradorn Barrows the Unifier

Father of Flinter-Barrows, one of the two founders of Weber-Hollows (~50 years ago alongside Isar), and a former member of the 13 Verdant Lords. Title: the Unifier (also heard as “the Uniter” in transcript).

Confirmed deceased as of session 2026-05-01 — his rotted body was found in his sarcophagus in the Barrows-Family-Crypt.

Death and the Crypt

  • Body present, decomposing.
  • A piece of jewelry has been ripped off his hand — believed to be the gold-and-green-gemstone ring that the party recovered from the owl bear’s lair (originally taken from the crypt by a goblin boss who was then killed and dismembered by the owl bear).
  • The recovered ring lets the wearer cast Speak with Dead — the party intends to use it on Aradorn next session to interrogate him directly.

Pre-Death State

Per his daughter-in-law Nora-Barrows in session 2026-05-01:

  • Aradorn “would speak of fog from time to time” before he died.
  • He lost his mind several years before he passed away.
  • Strong implication: the dark pall now plaguing Weber Hollows afflicted him first. He may have been the first witness or the first victim, depending on what is actually behind the fog.

The Verdant Lord Seat

His seat among the 13 Verdant Lords passed to his son Flinter-Barrows. The animal sigil tied to his seat is unconfirmed but likely one of the five sigils revealed in the crypt puzzle (vulture, stag, wolf, boar, bear).

Open Threads

  • What did Aradorn see in the fog before he lost his mind?
  • Why did the brothers’ relationship break down (per the crypt panels: arguing → fire → cave-in)?
  • What was Aradorn’s role in the “metallic features” the crypt depicts — the lifting mechanism, perhaps?
  • Will Speak with Dead reveal him as victim, conspirator, or both?

Transcription Note

The audio is inconsistent on spelling. “Arador Barrows” appears in older transcripts; “Aradorn” in the 2026-05-01 session. Treating Aradorn as canonical going forward.
