The Thirteen Verdant Lords
Thirteen leaders and protectors of the Verdant-Realm. They are connected to the Fae, through which they receive visions, prophecies, and “bits of history, bits of subtle messaging.”
Known Members
- The White Stag — Roland’s father. Human. Reportedly the strongest of the thirteen. Kept to himself, very enigmatic. Status unknown (alive or dead is intentionally ambiguous). Sigil: stag.
- Aradorn Barrows the Unifier — former Verdant Lord, founder of Weber Hollows alongside Isar Recmir ~50 years ago. Deceased; his seat passed to his son Flinter. Lost his mind to the fog before he died.
- Flinter Barrows — current holder of his father’s seat, petty lord of Weber Hollows. Confirmed in session 2026-05-01.
Sigils Glimpsed in the Barrows Crypt
Five animal sigil totems decorated the crypt walls of Aradorn and Isar Recmir, suggesting these were the seats associated with the brothers and their sworn allies:
- Vulture
- Stag (canonically the White Stag’s seat)
- Wolf
- Boar
- Bear
The three slots in the crypt accepted Stag, Wolf, and Vulture. Bear and Boar were present but not used in the puzzle. Whether each animal corresponds to a specific Lord remains unconfirmed.
Connections
- Forge Doomhammer — an old orc follower of Amareses connected to the Verdant Lords through the Fae. Receives prophetic visions.
- Amareses — the faith of the Verdant Lords appears closely tied to Amareses and nature. The crypt of Aradorn and Isar even depicts a slender white-furred antlered humanoid (likely Amareses, or an ominous variant) in its hidden lower panel.
Plot Relevance
The White Stag’s identity as one of the 13 Verdant Lords raises the stakes of Roland’s search. The Fae connection suggests the Lords are more than just political leaders — they are conduits for something older and deeper.
