Verdant Realm
A large region of Greno, not the entire continent but a significant chunk. Characterized by lush forests, fertile valleys, and scattered trade settlements. No kingdoms, no empires. Greno is mostly villages and huts. The campaign begins here.
Hogarth is the other continent, connected via Kracklin-Pass (a land bridge through a canyon). Hogarth is “big city” territory. Greno is not.
Governance
The Verdant Realm is protected by the 13 Verdant Lords — leaders connected to the Fae who receive visions and prophecies. Not a political government in the traditional sense, more like spiritual guardians of the land.
Known Locations
- Freewood — coastal town in the NW, mostly tieflings/drow/orcs. Tharion’s hometown, where Roland arrived. Formerly “City 2” on the Session 0 map.
- Thornhollow — walled artisan/scholar town, where Dorian and K’roaa’ka start
- Thorndeep — ancient ruins beneath Thornhollow
- The Grung Swamp — tribal territory near Thornhollow
- Weber-Hollows — destination for both pairs (Dorian’s mission + Roland’s White Stag search). Swampy area to the south, a fortnight’s ride from Freewood.
- Black-Forest — dark forest where Roland was raised. Tall trees with almost-black bark, evergreen, blocks daylight year-round.
- City 1 — one of two trade hub capitals Brandon placed on the map during session 0. No name yet. Nathan (Roland) was knighted here or nearby.
- The Forest — deep woods where Azalea Fern’s Feywild portal connects to the material plane. Near Roland’s cottage. No formal name.
- Roland’s cottage — on the edge of the Black-Forest, where he was raised and abused before the knights found him.
- Eva Valentine’s circus — traveling, currently near Thornhollow area. Where Lilith was raised. Possibly connected to the Carnival-of-Hijeanx.
