Congregation of Elythrael
Followers believe that those who truly devote themselves to Elythrael must live lives of unwavering virtue — incapable of lying, cheating, stealing, or committing acts of cruelty. Elythrael is revered as the Mother of Angels and the embodiment of all goodness in the world.
Origin
Created by The Creator, and from her divine essence came the first angels — guardians of righteousness and protectors of the mortal world.
Beliefs
- Elythrael blesses those who pray with sincere hearts, granting subtle guidance, protection, and fortune to the honorable
- Her shrines appear mysteriously across the world when someone pure of heart is in great need, vanishing when they return
- Those who live honorable lives ascend upon death to the Plane of Eden, a radiant paradise where Elythrael and her angels dwell
Sacred Places
Temples are built in places of natural beauty and peace — high mountain sanctuaries, quiet forest glades, radiant city cathedrals, and sacred springs with healing properties. These are considered Holy Ground, where violence and deceit are forbidden.
Confession and Redemption
Mortals are imperfect. Those who regret their sins must travel to Holy Ground and place their hand upon the Scale of the Just, a sacred relic found in Elythrael’s temples. The scale, usually tilted slightly to the left, balances for only a brief moment when touched by one who speaks their guilt truthfully — Elythrael acknowledging the sincerity of their confession.
Sacred Days
- Day of Ascension — the most revered holy day, celebrating the creation of the angels. Worshippers gather to pray, perform acts of charity, and light candles in Elythrael’s honor.
- Vigil of Wings — a solemn night of waking prayer, asking Elythrael to watch over loved ones and protect communities from darkness.
Symbol
A shield adorned with two angelic wings.
