Session, 2026-05-23, Northwest Road and Chuckles

The party leaves Weber Hollows after the Gluttony victory, gets the next northwest lead from Toma, helps the wounded owl bear, causes one last disaster at Jamarius the Glorious’ shop, and runs into a goblin ambush on the road. After freeing a one-eyed giant captive and learning more about Silent, Roku, and the Cult of Bazeel, the party finds a strange Dominae bounty hut. The night ends with the Jester returning as Chuckles, dealing more cards, and turning Alaric into a parrot.

Major Canon

  • Next totem lead: Toma says the next totem should be somewhere in the northwest section of Greno.
  • Azalea and Amareses: Amareses thanks the party and tells Azalea they may meet in person when Azalea travels to the Feywild.
  • Bubbles is gone. Bubbles is left behind in Weber Hollows, then appears to see something no one else sees and vanishes. The table later implies this may connect to Elythrael. ^[ambiguous]
  • Silent/Roku thread opens. A freed captive says Silent is Roku’s right hand, made a pact for power, adopted the Cult of Bazeel, and is cursed into service.
  • Dominae bounty system: A hidden/enchanted bounty hut run by Damos offers wanted posters for Silent and Hyrel. Silent is wanted alive for 3,000 gold.
  • Jester card set grows: Lilith receives Doppelganger, K’roaa’ka receives/eats Muffin Man, and Azalea learns Chicken summons a chicken when the right moment arrives.
  • Alaric is a parrot for now. The Jester tricks Alaric into putting on a gold ankle bracelet allegedly from Roland, transforming him into a speaking parrot.

What Happened

Aftermath in Weber Hollows

  • Azalea communes with Amareses. Amareses thanks the party for maintaining stability in the Herded/Verdant Realm and says Azalea is on a journey of finding herself.
  • The party discusses Echo’s resurrection again: the druid who restored Echo had an Amareses symbol, but K’roaa’ka is not ready to ask the question directly.
  • Tharion tells Bubbles that her place may be in Weber Hollows, possibly helping create a better name for goblins and spreading Elythrael’s faith. Bubbles prays, then later vanishes when the party leaves town.
  • K’roaa’ka stays with the wounded owl bear, treats its wounds, apologizes for not finding its mate, and receives Sleepy’s goblin head as an owl-bear-style gift.
  • Dorian changes an infusion/loadout to use a Bag of Holding for the goblin head, after noting Azalea’s slippers stop working.

Shopping With Jamarius

  • The party visits Jamarius the Glorious before leaving.
  • Azalea tries to buy or test a pretty acorn bag, but it is just a normal bag and Jamarius massively overprices it.
  • Alaric intervenes to recover Azalea’s acorns.
  • K’roaa’ka and Dorian trick Jamarius into drinking K’roaa’ka’s tainted barrel water as fine wine. Jamarius gets violently sick.
  • The party appears to leave with several healing potions and the acorn bag, but payment/ownership is messy and should be confirmed.
  • Devourer’s Vitality is clarified: consumable healing doubles, including Goodberry and healing potions.

Northwest Road Ambush

  • The caravan travels northwest toward Toma’s lead, with Roland treated as an NPC while Nathan is absent.
  • A goblin named Sodom/Sodum halts the party and is immediately killed, triggering a larger ambush.
  • Azalea uses Spike Growth to shred clustered goblins as they move.
  • Lilith uses high ground and sneak attacks, including a huge critical shortbow hit.
  • K’roaa’ka uses poisoned arrows and Hunter’s Mark, while Echo helps kill goblins.
  • Dorian Misty Steps above the one-eyed giant and drops onto it with his Calibration Hammer, then survives heavy club and Evil Eye/psychic damage with Shield and doubled healing potions.
  • When the last goblin dies, the one-eyed giant stops fighting. The party identifies a magical earring/promotion on him, removes it, and learns he was enslaved or magically diminished by the goblins.
  • The freed captive says Silent is Roku’s right hand and points the party toward an old hut with more information.
  • The party redirects the freed captive toward Weber Hollows as a possible protector.

Dominae Bounty Hut

  • The old mossy hut transforms inside into a warm, cozy office for the Tribe of Dominae’s wanted posters.
  • Damos introduces the bounty work as honorable battle against evil beings.
  • Two bounties are visible: Silent and Hyrel. Silent is wanted alive for 3,000 gold.
  • The party takes interest in Silent but does not fully start the hunt before camping.

Chuckles and the Cards

  • At camp near a pond, K’roaa’ka catches a sunfish that can grant a temporary +1 to STR/DEX/CON if prepared as a meal.
  • The Jester returns, singing, and introduces himself as Chuckles the Traveling Jester. The table notes he has now used Achilles, Jack, and Chuckles.
  • Azalea complains that her Chicken card has not done anything. Chuckles says it was not the right time.
  • Lilith receives Doppelganger, a one-use card that can transform her into a teammate and use their abilities for a day.
  • K’roaa’ka accidentally eats a card hidden in fish and receives Muffin Man, which later reappears in his pocket and can summon a giant gingerbread man named Matungo.
  • Azalea’s Chicken card is clarified: it will summon a chicken, but only when the right moment arrives.
  • Chuckles tricks Alaric into accepting a gold ankle bracelet supposedly from Roland. Alaric transforms into a speaking parrot.
