Vitas Nova NPC Jot Notes
Raw capture from Dustin during a session, names and one-liners only. Needs flesh-out before promotion to canonical NPC notes under dnd/the-plane-of-vitas-nova/NPCs/ / Locations/ / references/.
Locations
- Ramelia — a town
- Val (Valzorme) — a college, located in or near Ramelia (assumed)
Roland Hartbane’s Retainers
These fill the open question in Roland-Hartbane about his 3 Knight-background retainers (Nathan plays Roland):
- Carrot — squire
- Analese — spy
- Alurec — loremaster
Traveling Jester
- Achilles — traveling jester, currently with Lexy (Azalea Fern’s player) and Nora
- Lexy plays Azalea-Fern; Nora’s identity TBD (separate player? NPC? family?)
- Could overlap with Eva-Valentine’s circus or the Carnival-of-Hijeanx given the traveling-performer angle, but unconfirmed
- Canon: the clown has no nuts.
Verdant Lords
- Flynnter — one of the Thirteen-Verdant-Lords of the Verdant-Realm. Role/personality TBD. (Roland’s father, “the White Stag,” is one of the 13 — Flynnter is a separate seat.)
In-Game Items
- The Book — the party traded for a book this session. In-fiction it contains the world lore of Vitas Nova. Out-of-game, this is the Quartz-deployed campaign wiki at https://vitas-nova.pages.dev/ (Brandon’s published worldbuilding doc). Treat the wiki as the in-world reading the party now has access to.
- Who traded what for it? TBD
- From whom? TBD
- Anything weird about the book itself (sigils, condition, language)?
Open Questions
- Where is Ramelia/Val on the map (Greno / Hogarth / Mara)?
- Is Val a wizard college, knightly academy, religious seminary?
- Who is Nora in relation to the campaign, and how did Achilles end up with her and Azalea?
- Promote retainers into Roland-Hartbane proper once names/personalities are locked
