Vitas Nova Session Jot Notes — 2026-05-01
Raw capture from Dustin during the session. Reconciled against existing canon. Promote into the matching canonical notes after session ends.
Companion to the live session note: 2026-05-01-IN-PROGRESS. Sibling: session-jot-2026-04-25.
Reconciled Against Canon
- Achilles = the previously-unnamed The-Creepy-Jester. Add the name to that note.
- Canon: the clown has no nuts. Per Dustin, this session.
- Flinter = Flinter-Barrows (already canon as petty lord of Weber-Hollows).
- New canon: Flinter is one of the Thirteen-Verdant-Lords. Add him to the 13 seats list. Update Flinter-Barrows note.
- Nora likely = Nora-Barrows (Flinter’s wife, already canon).
- Confirm the “Achilles is with Lexy and Nora” beat refers to Nora Barrows, not a new NPC. Lexy is the player, so the in-fiction read is “Achilles is currently in scene with Azalea and Nora Barrows.”
- Alaric the Loremaster is NOT Aldrich-the-Lore-Master. Different NPC. Alaric is one of Roland-Hartbane’s 3 retainers; Aldrich is the lore-keeper of Weber Hollows. (Spelling confirmed at the table this session: “Alaric,” not the earlier captures of “Alurec” / “Aldridge” / “Alric.“)
New NPCs
- Carrot — Roland Hartbane’s squire (retainer 1 of 3)
- Analese — Roland Hartbane’s spy (retainer 2 of 3)
- Alaric — Roland Hartbane’s loremaster (retainer 3 of 3)
- Achilles — traveling jester, real name of The-Creepy-Jester; nutless; currently in scene with Azalea Fern and Nora Barrows
New Locations
- Ramelia — a town (continent TBD)
- Val (Valzorme) — a college, in or near Ramelia (subject TBD: arcane, knightly, religious?)
New In-Game Items
- The Book — the party traded for a book this session. In-fiction, it contains the world lore of Vitas Nova. Out-of-game, this maps to Brandon’s Quartz wiki at https://vitas-nova.pages.dev/.
- Trade partner: TBD
- Trade cost: TBD
- Physical description (sigils, language, condition): TBD
Promotion Targets (post-session)
- The-Creepy-Jester — rename or add “Achilles” as the real name; add nutless detail
- Flinter-Barrows — mark as Verdant Lord, link to Thirteen-Verdant-Lords
- Thirteen-Verdant-Lords — add Flinter Barrows to the seats list
- Roland-Hartbane — close the open question about retainers, list Carrot/Analese/Alaric
- New NPC stubs:

Locations/Ramelia.md,Locations/Val-College.md
Imagery / Symbols Encountered
- 2 figures, brotherly bond / “brothers in arms” — statue, sigil, or art piece showing two figures bound in a brotherly / brothers-in-arms pose. Context TBD (likely the Barrows-Family-Crypt given the founding-brothers angle of Arador-Barrows and Isar).
- Animal sigils encountered: vulture, stag, wolf, boar, bear. Likely connected to the Thirteen-Verdant-Lords (the stag is canonically Roland’s father / White Stag’s seat). Could be 5 of the 13 Lord seats now revealed by symbol.
Open Questions
- Where are Ramelia/Val on the continent map (Greno / Hogarth / Mara)?
- What kind of college is Val? Wizard, knightly, religious?
- Was today’s “book” trade the same transaction as Lilith’s legendary card from Achilles, or a separate item?
- How did the party come to learn Achilles’ name? Self-reveal, third-party, or magic?
- Confirmation that the Nora referenced is Nora Barrows.
- Which Verdant Lord seat does Flinter hold (one of the named 13, or a previously unnamed one)?
